  • steve hackett is the best

  • I enjoy Hackett's version more, but Steurmer is put in quite an awkward position in playing what may be one of the greatest guitar solos ever. If he played it note for note with all the sustain in it, people would call it sacrilege for copying someone else's masterpiece. HIs take, with ultrafast playing and lots of notes, was to respect that no one but Hackett should play the original.

  • FUCK DARYL STUERMER STEVE HACKETT WAS FAR FAR BETTER THAN THIS JEAN LUC PONTY REJECT!!!!!

  • Steve Hackett the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One should respect the development of a band. That's life! I guess, most of the people here still can not even play guitar...

  • I guess I have an untrained musical ear, because it sounded like a pretty good guitar solo to me.

  • A very wonderful play by all and Daryl is tremendous. It is a different Genesis, although I liked more and grew up with the more progressive times, it is a recognized good effort.

  • Is it possible to fuck up Hacketts solo any worse than this !!!

  • Collins is a little tosser. I love Genesis, proper, but can't get away with Collins' psuedo-Genesis. No comparison.

  • @Screentan Daryl is a great guitar player. Each brings his own type of solo!! But I'm SO GLAD they played this because it was Phil drumming without Chester for the first part and the keyboards in this are phenomenal. Not to mention the awesome bass line also. This right here before the solo is Genesis itself, just the 3 of them. Then Chester & Daryl join for the guitar solo part. Firth is a classic in the catalogue & both versions are great in their own way!

  • daryl GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
