Higher gain antennas accomplish a great deal more than boosting power- which is illegal unless operating licensed under part 97 anyway. Regardless, deionized water won't generally damage electronics. Dust accumulation getting wet might, but you could /theoretically/ take a perfectly clean bucket of DI water and dunk the device to keep it cool. I don't accept responsibility for anyone trying this, however! (Have seen a switching power supply accidentally get hosed with R/O and be OK)

Bummer about the water cooling accident. Good luck w/ the next one

@Browns33ful Stay away from Linksys
They are too big to provide you with support down the road, when their crap dosen't work right...Customer Support in non-existent. Go with belkin or netgear for your router...wayyyyyyyyyyy more user friendly and reliable. TrendNet and Dlink are other companies which produce high end reliable hardware.....Good Luck!

@juicysquidlad I love Linksys. there are so many different firmware versions you can switch to. When your doing this kind of thing you are not likely the kind of person that would need to call customer support anyway.
