Hayley's POV

I was here. La Bombe. The place of mine and Kevin's very first date. But where was he, and what was I doing here.

"Nice to see you."

I spun around and saw Kevin, looking gorgeous as ever.

"What are we doing here?" I asked, intrigued.
"We're here, so I can formerly ask you on a date, tomorrow night." he declared.
"All of this, just for a date." I said. "You could have just called." I laughed.
"Encase you're forgetting, it happens to be your birthday tomorrow." he stated.
"Ohh." I sighed, realising that I had forgotton. "It's been pretty hectic."
"That's why I'm taking you out tomorrow night." he smiled. "It'll be romantic, and unforgettable." he said, kissing my lips, softly.
"How can I argue with that?" I giggled.

We walked back along the boardwalk, hand in hand, and blissfully happy. I arrived home and Riley jumped on me straight away.

"What happened?" she questioned, frantically.
"Kevin asked me on a date tomorrow night."
"But it's your birthday tomorrow." she sighed.
"Am I the only person to forget my own birthday?" I asked myself.
"You forgot?" Riley laughed.
"I've had alot going on, the point is, Kevin asked me on a date." I smiled.
"Ahhh, just a nice, simple date. No strings attached." she rambled.
"Riles, do you know something?" I asked, curious.
"No. I just figured, if you proposed on your birthday, it'd be more romantic." she lied. "But I guess seen as Kevin planned this, you can't really ruin his plans."
"Who said I can't?" I questioned. "It is my birthday."
"Hayley, you won't seriously propose will you?" she asked, nervously.
"Of course not." I grinned, walking upstairs.
"Why do I not believe you?" Riley called after me.
"Night Riles." I replied.

Joe's POV

I had officially been invited over to meet Carson's new family. The street was nice, and it wasn't too far from my own house, so I'd easily be able to come over whenever. I walked up the front porch and knocked on the door, waiting to be greeted.

"Hello?"

A tall guy, with shaggy brown hair, and a beard answered the door.

"Hey, I'm Joe." I grinned.
"Ahh, Joe. I'm Blake, come in." he smiled.

I walked into the house and continued into the kitchen, sitting down at an empty bar stool.

"Is Carson in?" I asked, nervously.
"She's upstairs." he answered.
"Ohh." I sighed, standing.
"Not so fast." he said, pushing me back into my seat. "I wanted to talk with you for a while." he explained.
"Me?" I repeated. "What about?"
"Your dating Carson, and I'm protective over her. I want to make sure your not gonna hurt her." he said. "Are you gonna hurt her?"
"No. I love Carson, I wouldn't dream of it." I answered, honestly.
"Good. Because you know, if you hurt Carson, I'll be forced to hurt you." he threatend. "Last door on your left." he instructed, before strolling into the living room.
"Thanks." I said, flatly.

Hope I could keep my promises. I'd never intentionally hurt Carson. I trudged up the stairs and wandered down the hallway and knocked on Carson's door. I heard giggling so I figured I'd walk in.

"Carson." I smiled, instantly zoning in on the teenage boy on her bed.
"Joe." she grinned, rushing towards me to hug me. "This is Austin." she said.
"Hey Joe." he grinned. "I've heard alot about you."
"Funny, because Carson never mentioned you." I replied.
"Joe, this is Blake's best friend. He's supposed to be helping me revise for my driving test." she giggled.
"I still can't believe she never passed." Austin chuckled.
"I can help you with that." I offered.
"Joe, I've seen Living The Dream. I don't think you'd be much help." she said, sarcasticly.
"I've gotta run anyways." Austin said. "I'll see you later Davis."
"You too Holmes." she replied.

Austin left the room laughing, while I plonked onto Carson's bed.

"How are you?" she asked, kissing my cheek, and perching next to me.
"Great." I said, bitterly.
"You sure. You sound kinda....annoyed." she probed.
"I just don't like the idea of some strange guy in your room." I admitted.
"Is Joe jealous?" she teased.
"I'm not jealous, just protective." I corrected.
"Joe, there's nothing to worry about." she explained, kissing me softly.

For that instant, when our lips were meshed together, I believed her words. But when they parted, the distance between them seemed extreme, and all my worries became intensified. I somehow had a strange feeling, that Carson's new family, weren't a good thing.

Short chapter, I know!
But, the next part is supperr long! And exciting!
Plus, The JB 3D Concert Experience, finally hits cinemas TOMORROW!
I'm going to see it, along with many of my friends. I'll let you know if I get hit on ;) haha.
