The yard haunt featuring a Reaper Theme with a Killer Clown.

Reaper and Clown Props were made from PVC pipe, chicken wire and stuffed with batting.

The lighted fence posts were pvc pipe with caps and plastic chain.

This is the first Halloween that we built props instead of purchasing pre made props.

The Grandkids helped make the tombstones out of styrofoam sheets and set up the graveyard.

The dead trees with webbing were dead branches from our Maple tree in the backyard.

Music theme was "Midnight Syndicate" interspersed with Halloween sound effects.

One lesson we did learn was to start much earlier if we are going to build our own props.

  • Please respond! How did you get the cob web walls like that (by putting up and staying)?

  • @JeffreyChangaHHN We used dead tree branches attached to metal fence stakes with fencing wire to stabilize and then stretched the webbing between each tree branch which were 4 ft apart. Hope that helps.

  • i bet the clowns head is the top of a fan with the baddes and cage tooken of

  • @badboyjacob98 It is made from an oscillating fan, I have a video on my channel of just the head on the fan base after I put it together.

  • pretty cool set up, I bet that reaper looked nice at night. did you decide your theme for 2011 yet?

I just started decorating my entire yard last year kind of like a haunted house. I have a few vids if you wanna check it out

  • @pubert55 Thanks! I checked your vids out and your much better at this than I am.

We've thrown around a few ideas, we have limited space so we want to set up something that the kids and adults can enjoy in a few short steps.

I was thinking a Sasquatch in the forest theme, trying to find some cheap buffalo hide to build the costume and have the living Sasquatch in the forest screaming, then jump out from behind a tree. The challenge will be to get a tall enough person to put in a costume.
