Stearns did request that no votes be scheduled on the night of January 8th because of the BCS championship game. Guess what? There were no votes that night; there were no votes that entire day. In fact, Speaker Pelosi held no votes for a 48-hour period, from 12:30 on Wednesday January 7th until 12:30 on Friday January 9th.
