  • Unless I have been misinformed, this aircraft used to be known as "White Lightning" and was previously painted white, owned and flown by Lefty Gardner.

  • @hundvonkrieg Hell, yes. Silver just FITS.

  • I know that isnt the correct paint scheme, but good god that polished aluminum is jaw dropping

  • @livinghornet I mean, atleast do this to like a cessna 172... or an F/A-18 Superhornet.....

  • @MrJp990 because its red bull and saving its historic colors doesn't help them with advertising. Its sad really.

  • Shiny.... shiny....... SHINY!!!!!!!!!!!! But why make it shiny? Why not just leave it in the original paint?

  • Yes! This is Lefty Gardner's P-38L-5LD. It's possible that it's been slightly modified for the air racing he used to do, but not much. He was known more for his showmanship than he was for competative air racing! His low passes are what made the crowd stand on their feet; and was mostly responsible for the low level limits imposed on Reno now. This is still a beautiful bird, especially polished as she is! Keep her flying!

  • B. U. T - ful

  • oh sweet jesus.
