I've assembled 64 of the greatest Guitarists from Seattle, Washington to Miami, Florida who specialize in everything from country to metal. They will be facing off in a 6 rounded tournament to decide the Greatest American Guitarist.
Round 1
Ted Nugent- Ted Nugent "Stranglehold"
Billy Gibbons- ZZ Top "Sharp Dressed Man"

  • nugent is not rock

  • This is worth nothing without Curt Kirkwood, look him up.

  • Dude, of all the ZZ Top songs to choose! Choose one wear Billy rips it like Just Got Paid, Ten Dollar Man or Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings.

  • I guess if the contest is based only on these solos and nothing else, the choice is obvious... Nuge

  • My favourite guitarists....I like both.

  • With all due respect to Ted, I have to go with Gibbons. Mainly because Billy sings AND plays lead guitar. Ted didn't sing alot of his own songs, it was Derek St. Holmes. So definetly Billy Gibbons. Plus Gibbons has a better beard.

  • I vote for Ted.Compare the riffs in Ted's Yank Me Crank Me to ZZ's Tush and the after intro riff in Ted's Goin Down Hard both are very similar to a BG riffs.

  • Billy, love ya, but Ted hands down!

  • tough call....but gotta go with the Motor City Madman !! Ted rocks and rules !!

  • Gibbons all the way.
