  • OP here, I thought it was like Rufus Wainwright's Dad? I remember looking into when I first posted this.

Either way, this part of the movie caught me completely off guard and I was ON THE FLOOR crackin up haha. Rewind-- watch again... Rewind-- watch again...never gets old!

  • is there a reason why im seeing so many fucking videos off of peoples TV sets!?

  • It's awesome and memorable because it reminds everyone that white people are so fucking lame.

  • The whole audience laughed when I saw this in the cinema. But I'd still LOVE to have been a rich young stud in 1930s Hollywood...spending Father's money on booze and working through the beautiful starlets

  • I laughed so hard when this part came up, its an amazing movie and this only adds to its awesomeness :D

  • Agreed, the best part of The Aviator! What an unusual way to film this, having the singer stand up into the frame! Makes me positively giddy every time I see it! The three members of the Wainwright family -- father, brother, and sister -- each perform musical numbers in this film, representing scenes and styles in three different decades. They must be very proud to have been part of this magnificent movie.

  • I thought I was the only one thinking about the happy feet scene in the aviator....

  • I cried myself to sleep almost every night for week after seeing this

  • That's not Michael McKean its Vince Giordano and the nighthawks look him up on youtube

  • rufus wainwright was also in tim burtons "big fish" he has this instantly recognizeable grinning xD

@cameraman: "what are you sniggering about?" ;)

  • Hey, that's Michael McKean from Spinal Tap playing the upright bass with an unbridled manic glee! I always knew Scorsese had good taste!!
