Mitja is an award winning director / producer / writer from Ljubljana, Slovenia... Mitja attended the prestigious Berlinale Talent Campus twice. His first short film Be Flexible won the best short prize at Motovun International Film Festival in 2003. In 2007 he won the Young Filmmaking Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Slovenia, and was nominated for British Council for the International award...

In year 2007, when this showreel was edited together, Mitja just finished a music video for Nina Osenar. So in a Moment like that we look back at what Mitja has done in those 7 years of his carrer as as Director, Producer, Writer... It all started in march of 2000 when he first pressed record on his camera and started making skateboard documentaries. After three groundbraking movies and a couple of skateboard music videos he decided in 2002 to make his first feature film. After two years the result was "Tu Pa Tam (Here And There)", a roistering tale of four hapless lads who dabble in the shallows of the criminal underworld of their small Slovenian town. Made on a shoestring budget, the film earned a nation-wide theatrical release and quickly became the smash hit of 2005, topping the Slovene box office for that year. Outgrossing Ray and House of the Fyling Daggers, "Tu Pa Tam (Here And There)" became the country's 8th highest grossing film of all time. Since then Mitja produced 27 music videos for some of the worlds biggest recorld labels including Sony BMG, EMI and Universal. His visceral visual style, sleek production values and whirlwind narratives have become a staple of MTV Europe as well as the Euro skateboard culture where Mitja claims his roots... Duncan Kenworthy, IYFEY judge and noted producer (Love Actually, Notting Hill) describes Mitja as a "Slovenian Danny Boyle" likening his first film to Trainspotting with its "great narative energy and constant invention" Mitja is currently working on his second feature film "The Erased (The Member)", a crime drama set during the fall of communism in Yugoslavia.

In 2007 Mitja directed six episodes of the award winning Polish television series "39 i Pol (39 and a Half)", about a man who tries to get his life in order, win his wife back and reactivate his old punk rock band all before his 40th birthday. In 2008 he returned and directed the entire second season. www.39ipol.tvn.pl
