@flytyer232 not sure about outfishing you hehe. I'm actually not using chenille and was using some ice dub. I do like the idea about not using hackle though. I'm really bad with streamers so I'm trying to use it more to get better.

how did you get to that spot... i live in santa cruz and im looking for a river close by to fly fish

You'll have to hike in for a few hours or backpack for a night or more.

I'd like to try fishing here. Which campsite did you stay at and do you remember the trail you took to get to these spots? Any info would be great. So far I'm between Andrew Molera and Pfeiffer Big Sur. Thanks!

i don't see your license anywhere? and in july? here in the valley we fish only from november to late february...

Probably back at the camp site or in my pocket.
Are you fishing for Steelhead? If it's steelhead then yeah, that's the season.. actually Dec. 1 to March 7. But if it's for trout (on Big Sur River passed the waterfall) then the season actually doesn't start until May and ends in October.
