I want the Venus who won Wimbledon in 2008 back :( I'd love for Martina to come back too but with her health problems and the power differential I don't think it'll ever happen.

Federer and nadal because federer plays nadal most of the time at clay. If they were to other surface more time then federer would dominate nadal. Plus federer is old. DJokovic is better then nadal. I believe his going to win more gs then nadal. Back to the question. Even if hingis make full use of her skills she is nowhere better then Williams sisters. She is definitely not better then Serena and even Venus. That's why she kept on losing to them. Statistic never lie.

@hiu1787 I didn't mean that Hingis is the best, nor did I mean to disregard the achievements of the Williams sisters. I just made the point to the comment that 'comparing them (the Williams sisters) to Hingis, they are superwomen'. I did agree with that, because of the Williams sisters inherent power advantage. With that disadvantage and limit in physical strength, Hingis will never be the best.

IF, and what if, the Williams sisters weren't so powerful, where would they be at all?

@susceotible I don't understand why it is a shame at all, players have different styles. Big hitters always have the edge over physically weaker players like Hingis. Still Hingis made good use of her skills and consistency to stay at the top.

So Federer lost out to Nadal in 2005 to 2009, even Federer was the no. 1 for most of the time. Shame to Roger? Nadal was the no. 1 until July 2011 and he lost 4 times to Novak in that period. Shame to Rafael?

@istoriposhivz maybe you should notice that before hingis retirement in 2002 she was losing 6 out of 7 times she played against venus. And dudring that time she was playing the tennis of her life. She was the current world no.1 through that period but still losing to venus. What a shame. About serena she was just a small threat during that time but still head to head records is favouring serena.

@istoriposhivz Hingis achieved all she did before the big hitters took over. She took advantage of a weak time in women's tennis - Steffi was on the back end of her career and Monica was no where near the level she once was, and Lindsay, and the Williamses had not refined their power games with the right consistency to topple her. But once they did, Martina didn't stand a chance. After '99, Hingis never won another major. Since that time, Lindsay won a couple (2), Venus 7, and Serena, well 13.

@errolmiranda I would love to see so much the Williams sisters play with Hingis' level of strength and see what they can achieve. Maybe they won't even get a ranking at all.
