The motorway is not going "through" Tara, it is only NEAR it - that's a mistake that many people make. Dick Roche, the outgoing FF minister, had already made the decision and this could not be legally overturned. I'm not happy about Tara either, but no arrangement, including FG/LAB, could have overturned it either.
The bill is delayed at the moment at no fault of the Greens - the change in Minister at the Dept. Of Justice has delayed the publication but expect it soon. :)
Blinder! You mean like the motorway through Tara ? The Bill was promised last March, where is it now? I voted for the Greens last election and they will have some answering to do when they next call here if they don't get on with it!
Labour's bill was declared unconstitutional by the attorney-general- they launched their own bill knowing it would fail just to score a point against the Greens, whose own legislation is still on the way.
The Greens' civil partership legislation is superior to the Labour bill. it wouldn't have come through without the Greens in government, as civil partnerships were in the GP's programme for govt.
In the face of complete unwillingness from the main parties, the Greens have played a blinder.
John Gormley! This is the man who with his co-FF TDs partners voted against Labour's Civil Partnership Bill when it was brought before the Dail! Where is Dublinpride's Pride?
