European Union legislation could see British shoppers' right to a refund for faulty goods disappear.
At present, UK consumers have a legal right to a refund, repair or replacement for a purchase which is faulty as long as they act within a reasonable time.
However, the EU's Consumer Rights Directive could mean that the right to a refund would disappear, although the right to a repair or replacement would still be available.
The Law Commissions of England and Wales and Scotland have called for the right to a refund to remain in place.
