A new state of the art toilet in Japan reflects an unusually high level of attention to detail and technological innovation.
A full array of Japan's newest high tech lavatories.
The top of the range toilet is equipped with a far wider range of functions than earlier versions.
The user is able to control the trajectory of the jet of water, which emerges from a retractable duct located within the toilet bowl.
"Move" and "massage" functions are also available and the velocity of the stream can be adjusted.
The toilets are also equipped with what are described as therapeutic functions including pleasant odors released when sensors detect a user approaching. And user-selected music plays at the touch of a button on the control panel.
It also has an audio function that simulates the sound of a flushing lavatory to conceal any noise and possible embarrassment.
Another kind of "Intelligent Toilet" can analyze urine and take readings of blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
Data is then fed directly into a software program designed to check the health of the users, normally a family.
The designer says the idea is to address some of the problems people in modern society face. He hopes this new toilet will help them rethink and review their lifestyles.
