natural selection and domestication are very different.
domestication is a result of human involvement in the breeding process of species, while natural selection is based on any species ability to adapt to a changing and environment based on favorable traits and genetics which may be totally independent of human interference.

I watched these two videos (part 1 and 2) because the title was "Charles Darwin, Jared Diamond" but there was nothing about Jared Diamond in either of these videos. I just read Diamond's book and wanted to hear some commentary about it or his ideas. There was nothing about Jared Diamond to be found here - wasted my time.

Your use of the word preach did kinda jump out at me... But anyone with at least an ounce of rationality will understand your meaning behind the word and that it has no religious connotations. Let the fundies pop some veins over it.

Mechanical physics are neat likewise... As a Biochemist I so love applied physics just as much as I love the new theoretical "neater" physics.

I really must re-read Origin of Species.

That is indeed the danger! Einstein and indeed many physicists seem very prone to such language

contemplating large periods of time seems to be the biggest problem in the face of Christian denial of natural selection theory.
Good tutorial.
thx again, although i suspect some people will pick up on your usage of words such as 'preach' and deliberately misinterpret them. Many Fundies are equaly convinced that 'Darwinism' is a religion! Thx again

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm going to listen again to hear where I used the word "preach." I'm sure I did, but I was not aware of the use of the term, or the consequences of the use of the term, at the time.

Dawkins indicated that the entire language was biased so that it was hard to talk about nature without anthropomorphizing it, and I might come to the conclusion that the language (or common usage of it, or at least the usage of some of us) is also unconsciously so biased with religion concepts and terminology to make discussion difficult without some indirect religious reference that is not intended to convey the religious connotation or even denotation.
