Pete's Dragon is a 1977 live-action/animated musical film from Walt Disney Productions and the first Disney film to be recorded in the Dolby Stereo sound system. It is a live-action film but its title character, a dragon named Elliott, is animated.

The story is about a young orphan named Pete who enters the fictional town of Passamaquoddy a small fishing community in Northeastern Maine in the early 20th century. His only friend is a dragon named Elliott, who also acts as his protector. Elliott can make himself invisible and is generally visible only to Pete, which occasionally lands Pete in trouble with the locals. Also featured in the film are Helen Reddy, Mickey Rooney, Jim Dale, Red Buttons, Jeff Conaway, and Shelley Winters. The film was directed by Don Chaffey, and the songs are by Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn.

  • ahhhhh child abuse... perfect topic for a song in a children's movie.

  • You know? These songwriters are brilliant. Only geniuses can write such a catchy, enjoyable song about child abuse that all of us youtube nerds still listen to.

  • This song is darrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk!

  • @razor4457 WAIT!!!! THE Chapmans!

  • she looks like beth chapman

  • "Gonna snag him, gag him drag him through town/Put his head in the river/Let the pup drown/Trap him, snap him wrap him in a sack/ Yeaaaaah/Tie him screaming to a railroad track/"

    :):):)

  • i couldn't believe it this film was on TV the other day but this song and a few parts of the film were cut T_T

  • Where is DCF?

  • @ACJonesy The 'high flying edition' DVD also has this song cut. Not to mention 'Candle on the water' removed, 'I swear I saw a dragon' and 'Brazzle dazzle day' shortened. Might as well just ban the whole damn film if they're gonna be like that. Then 'Song of the south' won't be so lonely XD

  • The film was on tv the other day, heavily edited I might add. This song was completely absent, making it seem like an invisible dragon just attacks 4 hobo's in some wood for no reason!

  • Roast him gently so the flames don't hurt at 2:32

    How's that even physically possible?

    Still my 25th favorite movie

  • The most violent Disney song I hav ever heard. I love this movie!
