Disco, Vietnam War, PROG ROCK, huge unemployment, Son of Sam, Nixon and the Cold War to name a few reasons. At least they gave us punk rock and hobbyists were perfecting PCs though, so I guess it wasn't ALL bad.

@ahoneyman Nothing against this song, nor lots of great music from the 90s, but I remember the 70s had a ton of great music! Sure, there was lots wrong with the decade.

And for those who want to remember the 90s as a wonderful time for music, they also gave us Garth Brooks. Not to mention the rise of hip hop as the dominant music genre.

Every decade has great AND embarrassing moments. If you choose to remember the best OR the worst of any particular decade, that's an incomplete picture.
