During the V/blog symposium at DCARA last summer, one of the presenters, Charles Katz, made an observation about why he thinks the Deaf v/blogosphere has so much conflict. His explanation, while interesting, did not seem to fully explain the issue. After thinking about it, I think I have a better explanation, building on Charles' idea.
Good point deafdub! The key is moderation to prevent a thread that leads to attack.

One major problem I saw with DVTV ... it doesn't seem to be moderated at all. vlogs containing personal attacks are left on the site, instead of being deleted. Other internet message boards and fora tend to be heavily moderated, and at the first sign of personal attack/insult, the post in question is deleted. If a member constantly sends personal attacks, then banned. This is not done with DVTV.
If proper moderation was carried out, then the situation would not have developed in the first place

Good analysis! Like Shelpotma said, the other group of people like Barry needs to be discussed on why there are so much friction. He and his group have taken the liberty as they thought to polarize the Deaf vlogsophere by painting falsehood that spreads like a disease so it is a pleasure of being sinister in order to grasp attention.

This is a new medium and the general rules have not yet been established to prevent this form of discord also in the name of "Free Expression" does cause some issues. This is a free for all type of environment that includes personal insults and oppression. We are seeing oppression in action and most people do not see this happening. How do we draw a line which is entertainment or educational? So far, I have seen both are combined into one which causes confusion among vloggers.

That is one plausible explanation. Yet, it doesn't explain people like Barry, for instance. Other than vendettas, what drives them to participate in this discord?
