And finally, after of many years without a proper footage of the last female driver in F-1, here is a very rare footage of the italian driver, Giovanna Amati, in action in the F1 at Kyalami, 1992.
In the beginning of the video we can see, before of the start of the qualifying session of friday, Giovanna giving an interview to italian reporter (I don't know exactly her name, but I heard the name Patricia). She's visibly nervous.
Later we can see some pieces of footage of she in action on the track. Firstly we can see she doing a slow lap. Later the transmission shows the aftermath of her spun and later of going back. Later we can see Giovanna in front of the late Ayrton Senna, and being overtaken shortly afterwards by him. At some point we can see Ivan Capelli going to the track and also Eric van de Poele, Amati's teammate at that ocasion, behind her. And finally the last part of the video shows Giovanna in front of Martin Brundle, at the time driving for Benetton. Shortly later he was able to pass by she.
Commentary in italian, by the former F1 driver Andrea de Adamich and Guido Schittone.
