How it works: A Rare Black Forest Monk Clock Automaton www.blackforestclocks.org

This is a rare Black Forest clock with Monk automata. The monk appears at the top of each hour behind the two double doors. As the clock strikes the bell located on the back of the movement with two hammers... the monks arms pull a rope and the small bell in the upper tower tolls. The case on this clock is made from roots, bark, pine cones and other organic material... a true work of folk art.
