Old Harry's Game - S06 - E01 PART 03 - Edith -

This is the 3d episode of series 6.
It is this episode in which Edith (Annette Crosbie) first appears.

With the professor now in heaven (I believe James Grout the actor who played him was too unwell to take part) Edith takes over the job of chiding and bursting Satan's bubble whenever she can. Before we meet Edith we hear from Gary a 16 year old from Hayling Island (Hampshire) who blew himself up after putting dynamite between his legs making a TV programme called Jackass. Edith is disgusted to meet Thomas who when he was alive was her son-in-law In order for Edith not to have to share accommodation with him she makes a deal with the devil to write a book about him. The trouble is she has to finish the book before she can move away from (probably) the man she hates most.

.In My Opinion

I think Andy Hamilton (the writer)
did a good job of re-writing the parts from the Professor to Edith. It looks easy just to "bung in" another character. I liked the professor very much but the choice of his replacement showed great care was taken to keep the show as believable (sic) as possible.

Lines in this episode I like (for no other reason other than I enjoy them) are :

"Oh we've got a little jingle going here haven't we"


(I will limit myself to 6 here I don't want to catch that OCD)
