Dear Teresa, I have learned so,so,so much with your videos! Thank you for being so generous and sharing your knowledge. This afghan using both crochet techniques is fantastic. I loved it

@stevenyoung34 You will crochet a longer chain from the start. The multiple is six so you will need to keep that in mind. For example you can crochet a chain of 210. You can divide 210 by 6, that will give you 35 shells.

On each end when you cut the yarn, what do you do with the yarn you cut? How do you weave this into the rest of the pattern in the end?

Ok, i gotta ask...who the heck is Andrew? ; )
p.s I never knew Caron made a "Simply Soft" yarn. Seems my local store doesn't stock it. Good to
know though, so i can search elsewhere for it.
p.s.s Very nice video.

I really love this pattern especially the afghan stitch. Thanks for your help. Know what, since I watch your videos, I'd been hooked from crochet stitching. My husband is very supportive and bought me some yarns and more crochet hooks. He said, you are like my e-mentor or virtual teacher.

Where can I find the longer crochet hook? I can't seem to find it at my local craft store or Walmart.

Great idea of the grippys on the hook :)

I nlove the pattern ...If I wanted to do an afghan, how many chain stitches do I start out with and how do you keep that many stitches on the hook? If this is a silly question, sorry...I'm sort of a beginner. Thank you!
Your instructions are amazing! I love how they are so easy to follow even for someone like me who has never crocheted before.

can you tell me why can you not use the same hook for both the shell and afghan stitch just wondering
jeanbes100 2 months ago
@jeanbes100 The hook size is the same. If you are comfortable working with the long hook making your shells then use it. I change because it is easier to work with the shorter hook for the shell. If you use the shorter hook to make the tunisian stitch, it will run off the end of your hook and come apart.
