That's probably some spin off that connects to the airplane heritage, since that's the corporation's original business. Nowadays it's not really true, since General Motors have bought the car division, so they're more or less separate companies. There are such references in many of the SAAB Automobile ads if you look for them.
btw, "SA" in SAAB stands for "Svenska (Swedish) Aero". jadajadajada...
