i have a router that is d-link that looks like that and some reason once a weak it stops working 10 times over the course of 2 days for no reason.

D-Link is possibly the worst router I've ever seen.... the reason I know this is because I have one, sadly :( the netgear I had before worked perfectly before it got short circuited during a storm.

yeah this was given free, better than nothing. Im lad to have it free. I do want a Linksys WRT54g one day...dd-wrt = AWESOME!!

lol--my schools wireless password is unknown. They changed it and made it like over 60 characters long--very few people get it, i can use it in some areas cause i use my laptop for school. i dont know the password, but my computer teacher types it in for me. My home password is over 40 characters WPA-PSK.

Password protection isn't enough. At my school and in my house, my wireless router is MAC Address secured. Which means that if the MAC address of the certain computer that wants to connect isn't on the "MAC address approved" list, the connection will automatically fail.

Thanks. I do already now about MAC Filtering but have not bothered to put it on since i check my client list all the time (list of devices connected to the network). I may enable MAC soon though..
