Based on Scandinavian Viking lore, Black Metal borrows from ancient Viking melodies, lyrics and mythology dating back to the 11th century. The new wave of Black Metal heroes give their take on the current state of the genre as well as on the founding fathers of Black Metal like Mayhem, Bathory and Immortal and the extreme, almost inhuman acts that surround this controversial subculture. Self-mutilation, murder, suicide, church-burning, the desecration of graves and corpses are all covered here in shocking and graphic detail!

New York International Independent Film & Video Festival awarded Black Metal Satanica as a best music documentary. Mats Lundbergs document will also be released in the United States first in cinemas and then in DVD. Mats Lundberg has previously made music videos for metal bands, including Thunderbolt, Tristan, and Paul Di'Anno.

Ich bin ja ein alter Norweger,meine Mutter stammt von der norwegischen Insel Tjöme,30 Kilometer von Oslo,ein paar meiner Mitschüler aus der Handelsschule waren noch extremer als ich,Martin (Ain) Strickler ging in die gleiche Schule eine Klasse unter mir,und ich habe dort Hellhammer und andere Bands wie Bloodstar kennengelernt,waren ne Menge friedlicher Gothics und Black-metaller daunter,aber der Martin ist ein A...loch,eingebildet,aufgeblas­en wie ein Wimp,kaum verdiente er mehr,waren wir Luft!

and Satanism is almost just as bad as Christianity...plus all those Satanist are 'sinning'(as the Black Bible would call it). the 1st 'sin' of Satanism is Stupidity. go figures, right?
