This very simple electric motor is called a homopolar motor because the magnetic field does not change direction or strength. With only three parts, it is probably the simplest motor you can possibly make.

  • @theawesomepwn i have blown a batterry up already (it was funny)

  • Be careful with these things because, in essence, you're creating a short circuit. This heats up the battery very quickly. They get hot enough to burn you very fast, and supposedly catch on fire and explode at some point. Don't try to blow one of these up either. :P

  • how can i make a magnetic feeld like in starwars? als if you put the backs of magnet to gether it pushes away how i make that thing?

  • Needs more comments so I gave you one.

  • NOW THAT'S GRAVITY IN MOTION!

  • @ConsumedByDrums Has to touch both ends of the battery

  • i like the last one

  • the trick is to make it spin as fast as possible.. meaning let the buttom of the copper touch the magnet.. at 0:50 not just barely.. but allso not touching the table..

  • Hehe, HOMOpolar
