I like both but prefer the UK version. Average HK USA Ramsay states is 30 to at times SEVENTY hours of footage and deciding what to edit - yikes. So his hysteria in the US version is real - but out of context. Here, where so much goes out 'live,' and the celebs there for just 2.5 weeks, it's quite realistic - which it has to be or Britain's 'Ofcom' will shut it down for being a 'fake' reality show. Must say Edwina's an ass but I cringed at GR's apparent bitter HATRED of her!

I too like the American version a bit better. The UK is so much like a home made movie. Its okay, but just not as good as the US. You can tell that Gordon wants to tell these guys off alot more then he does at times too, but I think he holds back more with these guys, because unlike in the US, these people have no reason to stay.

That dish, is seen made my Marco Pierre White in the old videos on youtube from Harveys, he prepares it and shows it in the exact same way, he said it was his favourite dish, but he didn't invent it though.

So I guess Gordon took that Harveys experience and used it here, wonder if he will make the dish in the same way, or if he's changed something.

not all american's prefer the dramatized versions, in fact I hate that part of it.

even though these are celebrities and not actual cooks/chefs, I prefer this over the American version. The host is witty, JP is as always wonderful, and there is no over dramatic re-caps that make you want to buy TiVo. Maybe next year while filming Hells Kitchen US Season 9 they will gear more towards the UK versions.
