For me, it's a violent tear, a cry from Constantinople.

@Floskeknosk For me, a field of brightly colored weeds. A gray sky that rain sprinkles from. It is neither warm or cold. An old rugged house, with cracks in the paint. A broken deck. Nobody is home.

saw him in milford, ct, mark was kinda nasty to the audience, kinda put me off, but the music was faultless

@MrDasadan Damien Jurado's And Now That I Am Your Shadow is probably what you're looking for. His most Mark Kozelek-esque album. And emotionally devastating through and through.
-
Yeah, this song, this album, is fantastic. Very powerful. Mark Kozelek reminds me much of Nick Drake.
-
No worries, Mr Dasadan! Would also recommend The National's album 'High Violet' and anything by The Magnetic Fields, The Besnard Lakes and Sufjan Stevens. Sun Kil Moon is my all time favourite, though.

The guy who recommended Damian jurado.....i downloaded ten songs after hearing his voice in "sheets"...thanks and to comment on this amazing song...attempting to learn and sing..will probably fail in comparison to mark......every time i hear it...shivers down my spine

@xander55577 Hey my friend, go see australian winter by him....hope you never heard it yet...
-
I might as well die now, being that I will never hear anything as good as this song for the rest of my life....or maybe I could stay alive and just check out more of Mark's stuff.
His voice to me, is winter. Fog and rain and cold. But somehow, accompanied by a guitar, he makes it warm.

@ExtraZergling For me Mark's voice is pure autumn. A billion yellow leaves, chimney smoke and one thousand lit candles.
