12 valves are indirect injection to where the 24 valve vp44 and common rail are direct injection!!

@dynamarkking Ok, since you're willing to answer questions, (thank you very much by the way)Is the new Cummins a direct or indirect injection diesel. I read years ago that the direct injection engines were more efficient, but noisier.

@themaytagrepairman - sir the 12v cummins is by far not a commonrail, it has the inline p7100 injection pump that counts on cam lobes to feed the injectors wiht fuel, that being said 98.5-02 24v cummins are also not commonrail they have an elctronic timed VP44 injection pump that also is drivin by the engine. 03-current isb 5.9-6.7 engines are indeed commonrail, just like the 07 that got beat. 12 valves can make alot of power relatively easy> JCS DIESEL PERFORMANCE Kenosha,WI anymore ?'s ask.

Can someone explain how a 12v can beat a 24v. Doesn't it have something to do with the common rail fuel delivery system in the 12v? Trust me I'm not putting down the Ram Turbo Diesel in any way. That's my dream machine! I want the new one so bad it makes me sick i can't afford one. One thing though, THEY MADE TO CUMMINS ENGINE TOO DAMNED QUIET!!!!
