Set turkey with shrink wrapper still on into the empty fryer.
Fill fryer with water to within 3 inches from the top.
Mark water level and remove turkey and water.
Fill the dry fryer with peanut oil to your mark.
Prep turkey, remove giblets, rinse and dry well.
Make sure turkey is completely thawed, any ice crystals will cause a violent reaction with the hot oil.
Bring oil up to 375F.
Turn off heat to fryer and dip turkey into oil slowly and smoothly.
After bubbling has claimed a little and everything is under control relight burner and fry turkey until done.
A 15 lb. bird will cook in 45 to 60 mins.
Never put water on an oil fire or kick the fryer over while on fire.
Fry turkey min. 30 feet from anything you don't want to catch fire.

  • This looks really dangerous LOL.

  • @mobiltec It can be. I've seen videos with flames shooting 25 feet out the top of these things. It's worth the trouble though, the skin is crispy and the meat is real moist.
