Although you can't sequence a whole song, with some practice, the MC-09 becomes a valuable tool.

  • I bought it on Ebay. The internal drums are kind of weak. You can't chain patterns together to create songs. The chop function works well. You can also pitch a sample across the pads in a sequence. The sampler is good for live looping, but it takes about 2 minutes to save and load a single sample from the (not included) Smartmedia card. Think as the MC-09 as a "Swiss Army Knife" for beats. It can do some cool things, just not all at once.

how do you find this machine?

is the inner drums useful?could you use the mc09 like a common drummachine?

the chop function works well (not also with drum loops)?
