First off, I want to to recommend a wonderful book by Louise Hay entitled "You Can Heal Your Life." It is life-changing! One of the ideas taught profusely in this book is the use of affirmations. Affirmations are positive statements stated in the present tense about what you want to be, have, or do. These are proven to work. You don't even have to believe the affirmations, just say them. If you say them enough, they will become beliefs eventually, and they will produce amazing results.

After a binge, I recommend you do the following to get yourself back on track and to hopefully keep yourself from getting stuck in a binge cycle:
-Be as gentle and kind to yourself as possible. This means NO criticism, hatred, berating, belittling, or the like. Instead, take time out to pamper yourself, have long hot baths, and meditate. Get back to your core, your essence, to who you REALLY are, which is perfection, love, beauty, consciousness, spirit. Look within and recall the past events that led up to the binge. Try to pinpoint the triggers and what eventually caused it. Knowledge is power! You are doing the work now to empower and equip yourself to deal with it the next time. Journaling may be especially helpful.
-Take it as easy as possible on your system. Make sure you eat, as not eating after dumping tons of calories/food into your body is a terrible strain on your system. Additionally, it wrecks havoc on your metabolism. Your body can deal more effectively with a binge and burning it off if you feed it normally. However, eat only fresh, raw vegetables (or whatever you know works for you). I particularly recommend greens, and green veggies, such as celery and cucumber. Drink plenty of water and hot herbal teas. Laxative teas may be just the thing if you are constipated from the binge.
-No excessive exercise after a binge!!! I know it's tempting to over-exercise to compensate for the binge and ALL those calories, but you're really only hurting yourself and perpetuating the whole binge cycle with punishment/compensation. Instead, indulge in gentle exercise like walks and joga.
Bulimia and similar diseases are self-hatred diseases. One of the most healing things I have found in my quest for recovery has been self-love, self approval as I am now, acceptance of myself, my life, my situation, and forgiveness.
P.S. Sorry about the TERRRRRRIBLLLLLLE lighting and all the interruptions!
