BiOH® polyols *Project UDesign* is a social media contest to crowdsource your favorite eco wing chair design to be made by Century Furniture and introduced during the Spring 2011 High Point Furniture Market.

It is sponsored by Cargill 's BiOH® polyols division (makers of the soy-based ingredient which replaces a percentage of petroleum in foam used for upholstered furniture cushioning) in collaboration with Savannah College of Art and Design, Century Furniture and Toray Ultrasuede.

It is the first time in furniture and design history that a sustainably based wing chair will be made based solely on online crowdsourced results. You can select your fav, help the SCAD students and be part of this history making social media event by visiting http://facebook.com/BiOHFans.

Your 3 finalists and their designs will be announced Monday, Oct. 4th on http://facebook.com/BiOHFans by 9 a.m.

From that point forward, you have until Tuesday night, Oct. 19th at 11:59 pm ET to help your fav student's design win through your new online vote and FB sharing!

Additionally, from Oct. 15-19, 2010, during the furniture industry's fall High Point Market, beautiful, very large full color renderings from your three student finalists will also be displayed in a special gallery at Century's High Point showroom in the Historic Market Square building, where market attendees will also be invited to vote.

At that time, you will also be able to see how famous designers and design bloggers have envisioned their favorite pick in a real room setting by seeing their blogs showcasing their *inspiration rooms* on a continuous video loop to be played in the Century Furniture *Project UDesign* gallery for the five days of High Point Market.

Your winner of Project UDesign will culminate in an award presentation at High Point Market at the beginning of http://withit.org ' s student mentoring day in the Century Courtyard at approx. 9: 00 am.

North Carolina-based Century Furniture, a 2009 AHFA SAGE award finalist and Sustainable Furnishings Council member, has pledged to put the new wing chair into production after the winner is named this fall and the SCAD student's chair will debut at High Point Market Spring 2011.

The student winner of Project UDesign will receive a $1,000 award from Cargill's BiOH® polyols business and Century Furniture will additionally put your winner's chair into its regular line up and pay a royalty for each unit of the winning chair design it sells.

Project UDesign is also sponsored by Toray International's brand of Ultrasuede® upholstery covers, which are made using the company's EcoDesign™ manufacturing process.

The Savannah College of Art and Design is one of the country's finest schools for creative careers and it is real world opportunities like this one for their students that makes them a leader in design education.
