From the ashes of The Minutemen rose this very different band featuring the same bass player and drummer. Less aggressively political, but still very alternative. An exciting live experience. Sorry the video is so dark, but there's more to come.
Was fortunate to have been able to see 'hose play dozens of times back in the day - still seeing Watt play anytime he's around town (Los Angeles). I've got probably 50 fIREHOSE / WATT /minutemen gigs i'm converting to DVD compilations, if anyone's interested...email me for info.
Another one who discovered fIREHOSE/Minutemen thanks to Streets of Fire. This makes me wanna do two things: (1) Go skate and (2) Go play my bass. Still doing both nearly 20 years later (although my body's increased injury recovery time doesn't let me skate as often as I used to), and still catching Watt live whenever I can. Mucho respect for that man! One of my all-time heroes. Miss these guys and vote for a fIREHOSE reunion tour!
I don't have any footage but I was there at the Cradle for fIREHOSE. I recall the James Worthy tour. I also saw them at the Brewery when Watt had burnt skin on his face from his VW blowing up. Between songs he would peel off pieces of skin. Saw them down in Charlotte at the Milestone too, and several Watt solos. Great guys especially Watt, always has time to talk. Great memories of standing room only at the old "concrete tunnel" Cats Cradle.
that breakdown in "under the influence" is so damn funky

this is probably the best band to arise from a pretty huge previous band. "2nd" bands usually suck, but not this one! They rock...

Does anyone know if ed "from ohio" crawford still has a band? I saw him w/watt in philly a couple years back. His band was three chicks and ed.
