Specializing in comedy with a strong heartfelt emotional hook, director Victor Mignatti brings to his work a solid post-production background as an editor and multi-faceted directing experience in a variety of disciplines including feature film, television, commercial, music video, documentary and internet content. In 2008, Mignatti was nominated for a Grammy Award as director of the Billboard#1 pop-culture phenomenon TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET 13-22 distributed by IFC. This outrageous hip-hopera was the Billboard #1 platinum music video DVD in sales 5 weeks in a row, inspired countless blogs and two major articles in the New York Times, which called it extraordinarily entertaining. TRAPPED has become one of the most viewed music videos in Internet history. Mignatti studied film at New York University and acting at Circle in the Square and believes that the filmmaking process (especially comedy) thrives on a collaborative, harmonious and upbeat set, at the service of the script and the needs of show-runners, talent and clients.

His feature film work includes the award-winning romantic comedy BROADWAY DAMAGE and the soon to be released documentary THIS TIME, an emotional music-driven portrait of six recording artists including the legendary girl-group and Elvis Presley back-up singers, The Sweet Inspirations. Recent commercial work includes spots for high-profile clients such as Estee Lauder, Peoples Choice Awards, History Channel, Kirshenbaum Bond and DraftFCB.

Mignattis documentary and real-people work is noted for honest fly-on-the-wall moments and moving intimate interviews. He directed the Peoples Choice Award nominated MTVs THE REAL WORLD NEW ORLEANS as well as numerous other reality programs, specials and pilots. In 2009, he produced and directed the hit season of MTVs THE REAL WORLD BROOKLYN. His documentary work includes the award winning films ACLU: 75th ANNIVERSARY, celebrating the 75th year of the American Civil Liberties Union and GMHC: A PORTRAIT, a sobering look at the fabled AIDS service agency.

The screwball romantic comedy BROADWAY DAMAGE has been seen around the world as an official selection at over three-dozen international film festivals and was theatrically released in the USA by Jour de Fete Films. Critic Rex Reed called it One of the best American Independent films in years. The film has been honored with three Best Picture awards including the Outfest Audience Award, toured the United Kingdom on the British Film Institute Tour, Germany on the Verzaubert Tour, and is in the permanent collection of the UCLA Film and Television Archive. His work is also in the permanent collections of the Museum of the City of New York and The Paley Center for Media.
