@roxxas5 guess what an external hard drive really works for readyboost
people buy an external hard drive with 500GB and it makes windows vista/7
fast!

when i try to change the device status form 4 to 2, it says: Cannot edit devicestatus: Error writing the value's new contents. help me please!
well dose the drive have to be in FAT32 format?>?

No, it doesn't have to be. The drive I tried it on was a NTFS.

I know this might sound stupid but...
Is there a way to use readyboost on an internal hard drive?
Or is there a way to relocate the prefetch?

Well... No, your internal drive is your main drive. Containing the operating system. And even if you had a second internal hard drive it wouldn't work. Because ready boost is for USB drives. I mean, if you can find a 500 GB external hard drive. Then it should work.

I just want to prefetch to a faster drive.

I'm not sure if you can do that. But I'd just buy more RAM. Or just use readyboost if you have vista. Vista also has superfetch too.
