I heard this song once durring the spring of 1973. A few months later I was on a two year mission for my church and have not heard it since. I could not remember the title or the artist. Finally today I decided I was going to find it. It has been remade by Nanci Grifith more recently. John Stewart the writer did it on his album Canons in the Rain. Thanks for posting this song. I see the plan of salvation in its words.
I remember this song well. It was on the radio not long after the Moon landing. The version I remember ended with the tape of Armstrong saying his famous quote "One small step for man.One giant leap for mankind"

Thanks for this. I still think Lobo is the best at this song. Listened to some of the others, but Lobo is still my favourite.
