  • Lucky wife must say.

  • @talissin Yes I agree -LOL

  • because= being a mechanic l dont like hearing the tappets, its because they are air cooled, transverse, alloy top end, they can be slightly noisey,(there are some dodges)if they are silent on the 1000s you have a prob.the 750s are mechanicly quieter, em perhaps l should get one.

  • @MrNotleo Well you seem to know enough about them to be able to make a good decision - is the power difference significant?

  • must say l have allways thought the 750 sounds better than the big block guzzis .from the owner of a guzzi 1000

  • @MrNotleo that's interesting coming from a Guzzi guy, I really don't have a clue but - I think the sound is BEST part of the bike, no offence intended to Guzzi aficionados :-0

  • very good sound! nice bike!

  • Tasteful!!!

  • It sounds like a corvette, awesome :D

  • What a gorgeous machine! And a great sound too....much different from the Harleys that I seem to hear all the time. Very nice!

  • hi,the power is less but so also is the weight thus the handling should be better so progress is prob faster unless on a motorway/freeway,years ago there were a lot of us on bikes, really big and fast for the day, on a fast/mental ride the bikes that got there first were the 350 two stokes because they had useable power(in the twisties in the uk) l found my 650 supermoto gets me to work quicker than my cali ,which is a very able bike when pushed.

  • @londonbill100 Im curious too!

  • @robcig - lol I figured you were talking about the bike :-)

I am 5'8"ish I rarely ride the bike but found it a nice fit on the occasions I've ridden it & Lou is 5'4'' & get a little tipy toe in places depending on the terrain. She finds it fantastically comfortable once on board & riding - I ride an MV Agusta F4 so I find the V7 Racer as comfy as my favourite lounge chair and equally as quick.

However with this bike you will have urban glitterati awesomeness & be mobbed everytime you stop :-)

  • Rob and Lou, not sure how tall you are but I sat on one of these babies last week in Castle Hill and I felt like I was sitting on my kids Huffy! How tall are you and is she comfortable? (the bike I'm talking about)...

  • @londonbill100

I have the same ones on my V7 racer and they are awesome, the sound is SO MUCH cooler than the originals. i didnt see any difference in fuel consumption even thought agostini reckon they improve on consumption.

you can get these from agostini in Italy. Google their website

  • @londonbill100

Do a google search of Motociclo (in St Peters) here in Australia. Drop them a line re: engine protectors, they may be able to ship them to you, I can't imagine it would cost that much - Tell them Rob & Lou referred you, they'll know who we are. Hope that helps :-) Cheers.

  • @londonbill100 - Hi Bill, Sorry I didn't know about the running mixture - the bike was not even started with the original pipes, they along with the mid pipe where changed at the dealer as soon as it was uncrated. In the end it came down to a choice between those & the Mistral both sound awesome, we went for these because of the easily removable baffles - one circlip - 15 seconds to do ;-)

The dealer says this is one of the best idling - easiest starting Racers, thinks it's the pipes/mid pipe

  • Thanks.

I have looked for these everywhere but can't find them.

I also have the V7 Racer and am thinking of fitting those or the Mistral pipes.

Do you notice the bike running richer with those.

    Do they affect fuel consumption.

With the standard pipes I can get 55mpg (12 miles per litre) and once I got 63mpg (14 miles per litre) on a long run.

I don't want to lose that.

It's something we have to think about here in the UK as our petrol is one of the most expensive in the world.

  • @midlmsts Thanks guys!!! Can't wait to catch up :-)

  • @londonbill100 - Just at our local Guzzi Dealer - they are pretty common and easy to get , cheap too, I paid $80 for both, I guess that means you'd get them for 10quid over there :-)

  • Can I ask where you got those cylinder protectors.

  • Bellissima!!!

  • Great looking bike Rob and Lou. JM
