You know... Years from now people will look back at the way we (as a society) have treated the gay population and be embarrased. We will achieve progress even if we have to pull the bigot assholes behind us. The straight propulation who agree's with the progressive movement need to stand up in a show of solidarity against such hate, discrimination, and values that spit in the face of what America is.

John McCain? Is he still alive?
-
@kerrysballard That would be while he was running for President last time around. He got increasingly desperate and threw all of his morals out the window. Blame the Republican base for being incapable of electing anyone but a bigot.
-
Just like with Apartheid, in a decade, not one American will ever admit being a homophobic member of society.
-
so mccain thinks that discharging thousands of soldiers simply for being gay hasn't damaged the military? What an haggard idiot!
-
@DoinkTonberry well if he really is i think he wouldn't have gone on ellen or allowed his wife and daughter to pose for noh8. (yes i think he thinks he has the right to control what "his women" do). bigot, yes. heterosexist, yes. homophobe, more or less, yes.
-
no i think he's just a homophobic dickweed. excuse my thrid grader language, but homophobic dickweed is really the only reason he's giving a damn about this
-
mccain knows that he'll lose politically if he's against DADT. its why he woulnd't just come out and say it.

@ouch2112 i terms of the onesidedness of it all they are exactly the same, but at least they don't have wackos walking around misspelling words on chalkboards
I keep looking at McCain's bio to see when he had his spine removed and the lobotomy performed. This is not the McCain I voted for in Michigan in 2000. His current behavior is rapidly destroying his legacy. He is going to be remembered not as a Senator and soldier -- but as a SOF -- Sad Old F**K.

Being an opportunist, a liar, and a hypocrite would never have earned John McCain a place in American history texts, but being a bigot just might do it. If anyone 15 years from now stills knows his name, it will be school children studying the history of the American civil rights movement, who will regard him as incomprehensibly vicious and stupid.
Posterity will award McCain a place right next to George Wallace.
