Describes the operation of the IAT or intake air temperature sensor. This sensor is a minor input to the ECM, but will dictate fuel economy for longer time periods. The IAT can be located at the MAF sensor (older vehicles) or as a separate sensor at the intake duct. This sensor works the same way as the ECT or coolant sensor. See it here, how it works and how to test it.
