I believe that you could purchase the phone unlocked (meaning without a contract, perhaps from Kyocera's website or from eBay) and get a SIM card from MTS to put into the phone from their new HSPA+ network (you've probably seen the ads, they call it their new "4g" network). I'm pretty sure that you can do this, but I may be wrong. Contact your local MTS store.

If you're looking at an MTS smartphone, consider getting the iPhone 4 or BB Torch, they're MUCH better than this!
