Import AVCHD

There is a cloud in many a blue sky. AVCHD squeezes full HD into less space on our camera cards but might require a different way of importing the video than the one to which we've become accustomed. The easiest way to handle the files? Import them into Windows Live Movie Maker in Windows 7 or iMovie on a Mac. Import the still images the same way you always have, put the card back in the camera and then delete the videos just copied onto the computer. Enjoy beautiful HD - even if it was stored in AVCHD.

The Sony NEX-5N

Just what I needed to know. I have a new Sony camera and couldn't get the test video I made of the card, and I couldn't figure out how do so so this has answered my question.

@thesrpspaintshop The NEX-5N has been getting great reviews. I'm trying to decide between it and the 7. Have you noticed the video clicking issue on yours or did the firmware update fix it?

I'm not 100% sure about the clicking noise – if it's there, its pretty quiet, but i did notice a noise which I thought shouldn't be there, like a scuff noise!

Is there an update for the NEX-5N? I knew Sony were working on some fix for the click but various rumours say it's either a firmware update, or a repair by Sony. What have you heard?
