  • Burt Lancaster came from an era of real people, actors, and family movies. There was nothing plastic about him. He was the real McCoy.

  • Burt Lancaster. No man should be allowed to be that handsome!

  • @fulmine89 didn't know that! that I've been invited to visit Ischia next summer, this will make the trip more exciting.

  • @ErnstBecker You are totally right. We don't have this anymore now. Most movies these days just wanna make a lot of money.Great movies are so rare to find these days.Thank God we have movies from 80's and decades below in order to watch true meaning of greatness.

  • Burt and Nick, quite a team. Unbelievable stunts, done without doubles.

  • Nick Gravat....which is a shortened name...got uppity in the Flame and the Arrow and Crimson...bossy...They didn't use his voice because it had to much of the old neighborhood in it.

  • The best actor ever, B.L

  • this was 1 of the first great movies I saw as a young boy and remains my favorite. I can remember the bigger than life image of burt as he was on deck with the other pirates. he was always in great pictures and a ladies man and always a gentleman and never in the negative news or national inquirer. great actor.

  • This film was made in ischia (naples) in 1952....Ischia is my island, W burt lancaster!

  • love is a many splendored thing!
