Author Phyllis Montana Leblanc talks about her experience when the levees broke. Walking through 4 miles in chest high water filled with corpses and feces, only to be offered hot watermelon. And yes the helicopters were leaving people. Empty helicopters. What are YOU complaining about?

  • STRENGTH AND HEART. THIS IS A STRONG WOMAN. MUCH RESPECT.

  • Umm Real Talk is Bill Mahers show.

  • I love that sister and I'm glad to see sh'es doing well. Gotta check her book out. Who I still want to know what happened to is a young God that held down a crew of babies, named Deamonte Love...I think about him often, sending that young brotha all positive energy.

  • I admire Phyllis M. LeBlanc so much I featured her in my profile and recently created a Hurricane Katrina playlist featuring her. If you haven't already, I recommend watching Spike Lee's documentary called "If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise." Runtime is 4 hours and worth every minute; it's on HBO this month (8.27.10). <3 AC
