Avatar Review (Part 2 of 2)

Paaaaart Two of my Avatar review! I didn't hate this movie. I just didn't really like it a lot. I think James Cameron is a great filmmaker and I've liked a lot of his movies, but this one was just a little too simplistic plot wise. It worked with Titanic for some reason, but this one not so much? Good times though...

The way he showed the clip from "Garbage Pail Kids" at 00:53 made me think that it's a reasonably good if not a classic movie. Turns out it's a turd and has a 2.7 rating on imdb.

i have to say i completely agree with plinkett. I didn't care much for avatar, the hype confused me quite a bit to say the least.

Yes,I'm familiar with the technique of distancing oneself from there beliefs by employing a created persona,I've seen it dozens of times among racists and misogynists.However I still will note(for reasons in the video and of what I've heard and seen elsewhere)that Mike Stoklasa merely comes off -LIKE- a bigot,and I'm only willing to think he is one,I don't claim to absolutely know for certain he is one.The jury is still out on that. ;-)

Firstly, @[Insert Username here) doesn't work on youtube. Secondly, it's a joke. Mr. Stoklasa isn't racist, he's a comedian, he makes jokes. Please understand that Mr. Stoklasa only meant his statement as a joke, he didn't mean to offend you in any way.

...an "asswipe nigger lover."And that's not the only one I've seen.So they do have a focus for their bigotry and they hate Avatar for invalidating their racist world view.That's how these things work.so you're post was very misleading.And besides I wrote that Mike Stoklasa comes off LIKE a bigot.Although of late (because of what I've seen of him elsewhere)I'm certainly willing to think he in fact IS a bigot.

You're hiding behind feigned ignorance.Mike's bigotry is on display right in the video when he and other connect the Na'vi with "black people" /Native American Indians.I've seen all the arguments.Those with a disproportionate hate against Avatar constantly make it a race issue,connecting the intrinsic part of being white with being the evil industrialist.They connect the Navi with people of color as a prime focus of their hate.People like @Runningjoels called @ShantyIrishman...

To be a bigot, you typically have to have a target of your bigotry... Na'vi aren't real. They're like Smurfs, or Canadians. Saying stuff like that kind of undercuts real bigotry.
