Growing Hostility Toward Biblical Christianity... From "Evangelicals" Like Richard Abanes (jarkin4 on Youtube)

We wish to apologize for this is the third time that we've had to post this video due to false claims of copyright infringement by Richard Abanes (jarkin4 on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/jarkin4 ), one of the subjects of this video. He has now twice had this video removed from this channel by means of false claims of copyright infringement. The claim for copyright is regarding a photograph of him that is on the biography page of his website. The use of the photo adheres to the Fair Use Law as it was used here by means of a criticism piece and for educational purposes, but Mr. Abanes does not agree with this. To prevent further removal of this video we've removed Abanes' picture from this presentation because the subject material is what is important here and not his countenance.

Sarah Leslie is an author and researcher. She's a member of the board of directors of Discernment Ministries and is a member of the Discernment Research Group. This edition of Crosstalk looked at the ramped up persecution in the West when it comes to biblical Christianity from within evangelicalism. Rick Warren's chief apologist online, Richard Abanes, has publicly likened Ingrid and several colleagues to David Koresh and other cult leaders and claims that they are all marked by: 1. A deep seated 'us vs. them' mentality 2. Feelings of persecution 3. Paranoia 4. A kind of xenophobic response to any and all attempts to have a more tolerant/civil approach to various issues.

This kind of resistance is not unusual because as Sarah Leslie noted, having a master's degree in counseling, she was taught that those who hold to any absolute ideas are suspect as being mentally ill. Ingrid and Sarah discuss how and why this attitude has entered the church, others that are promoting it, and how a rejection of biblical eschatology within evangelicalism is helping New Age teachings and Christianity to merge.

I have noticed that whenever Rick Warren, Oprah, and now Richard Abanes make any kind of religious statement VCY America/Slice of Laodicea start barking like watch dogs. I wonder if their priorities are really about a relationship with God or with ferreting out Christians who do not conform to their particular version of Evangelicalism?

Did you just say that the bible is non negotiable? You've just closed your mind to the reality of God! How would you feel if I said that the Koran was non negotiable?

Anyway I've had the same problem with Mr.Abanes. I've redone my show on him so many times all because of a picture. This man like you people I'm sure can quote what Jesus' biographers said,but when someone else has a different opinion your all over them on what it all really means. Seems only true Christians can get it right!

I pretty much agree with this, but with all of the anti-Biblical nonsense spouted by "Evangelicals" - especially the political types - it's hardly a surprise.

You really want to get in trouble with these so-called "Evangelicals" try asking them about Acts 5 and the FINANCIAL responsibilities that are demanded for church membership. Since it goes against their politics, they object.

Abanes is clearly guilty of the sin of projection and misrepresentation.

I've been guilty of this too, and I know it's VERY hard to be delivered from it. Especially if you have a sizable ego, which I've had and regrettably still have.

Sounds like this guy (Abanes) does too...unless I'm just PROJECTING. ;)
