  • Excellent performance, my favourite of this concerto (I have this DVD) <3

  • He is still too fat? am I wrong?About 60 years ago, some one gave me a great advice:

Quit smoke! you should belive the health news!(Thanks God!...)

Isaac Stern, once San Francisco Chronicle critic wrote:a pumpkin shape on the stage...and Tenor Mario Lanza and Soprano Deborah Voigt and many many stars

they are severe on diet...When you hear a good advice, first that you feel discomfort

or angry...or...Here,I say:"Stage manners is for every artists!"

  • @kamjew YOU NEED,PLEASE, TO GET A LIFE AND DO A BRAIN DIET FOR YOU!!

  • @kamjew Could you be any more of a MORON?

  • Best.... composer.... ever.....

  • He is too fat!look like the pig?He should be on diet...( For the stage style...?)

I am sorry to say that, but this is the true!

  • You have made an excellent observation, Kavakos just like Heifetz or Ferras uses a violin technique that is becoming distinct. Can you see how unusual his bowhold is? That is of course not all but his technique is the most natural way to play the violin, therefore he is able to put constantly the entire weight of his arm on the string thus creating a "larger more reasonant sound".

  • The way I see it, the trifecta of bow speed/length, distance of the bow with respect to the bridge, and pressure applied. So when you're sacrificing bowing length/bowing speed, you have to make up for it by playing closer to the bridge and with greater pressure to produce a greater tone.

But iono, I've felt Kavakos has always had a very sweet tone.

  • I wish the camera wouldn't change so much.... with such a great violinist I want to see how he plays

  • I don't usually listen to classical music, but Kavakos and this amazing piece by Erich Wolfgang Korngold that I saw on pbs not too long ago has made me particularly interested.
