Federal Reserve Policy Audit Legislation Gutted, Paul Says
By Bob Ivry
Oct. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Representative Ron Paul, the Texas Republican who has called for an end to the Federal Reserve, said legislation he introduced to audit monetary policy has been gutted while moving toward a possible vote in the Democratic-controlled House.
The bill, with 308 co-sponsors, has been stripped of provisions that would remove Fed exemptions from audits of transactions with foreign central banks, monetary policy deliberations, transactions made under the direction of the Federal Open Market Committee and communications between the Board, the reserve banks and staff, Paul said today.
Theres nothing left, its been gutted, he said in a telephone interview. This is not a partisan issue. People all over the country want to know what the Fed is up to, and this legislation was supposed to help them do that.

@InTheSticks1881 Do-o-o-n't worry about auditing the fed—do you remember the old pinball machines? If your game wasn't what you wished, you could always bump—or tilt—the machine, and it would go on to a new game? Well, . . . get my drift? Suppose we get into a real war, and people would then have something of urgent appeal to occupy their little minds, . . . the fed can not be audited, . . . the reasons trace back to our non-educational system, . . .

Has anyone listed emails for various politicians we can contact? I can find my Senators and local Congressman but if someone has a simple and easy to navigate list with emails and phone numbers, please post it so we can mount some pressure fast.

I wrote my Congresswoman, Debbie Halvorsen, who supported HR 1207, to inform her of the change and request her help in passing HR 1207 with its original language. Thanks for keeping us informed, Jive.

Your living in the past. 80% of America was against the bailouts and they said FU. America is overwhelmingly against the public option and they said FU. I'm sure 75% of America is behind Paul's bill but we all know another FU is coming.
It's time to ask yourself what do you believe. I urge everyone to pull out your copy of the Declaration of Independence and read it very very carefully...

Glad to see you back in action.
What kind of process allows one man to gut a bill that is broadly supported?
It is an easy call to say the Fed would find a way to kill it or gut it, so we shouldn't be surprised. The silver lining is that even if it did not pass, the questioned was asked and made an 'issue' that can live on. I hope it get's passed, but it seems it will be fought hard. Remember Obama could simply veto it.

I don't know how it happened. I want to find out. There are enough sponsors to override a veto. We need to get the language re-instated. Please forward this video to every US citizen you can find.
