The US Marines detachment UNITAS XXVI / WATC. 85 and the French 33. Regiment d'Infanterie de Marine, based in Martinique, organised a combined exercice on Vieques Island , december 1985, with the USS Saginaw and the French Navy ship Francis Garnier. And the French soldiers got 2 days leave to visit San Juan before their return to Fort-de-France. This short movie was made with a small Super 8 camera and Kodachrome film.

@ki4ngz : Hi, Ian ; I'm happy to read your comment. I was the French commanding officer of this exercise, and I keep very good memories of the USMC and of the US Navy, especially of the USS Saginaw !
