what about all the other people who were "thriving" here prior to 340 years ago? and isn't it ironic that this is an advertisement for HBC's line of knockoff Cowichan sweaters originating from the aboriginal peoples of Vancouver Island? just a thought...

When it says "we" in this ad, I always thought they were talking about the HBC, not Europeans in general.

this is such a romanticized video...the only reason why European settlers survived here is because of Aboriginal people. Also the sweater design at the end is an indigenous Cowichan print... and do you think they got compensated for it? nope!

Well if the HBC feels like talking about the HBC, then they'll talk about HBC. It is their commercial and they haven't distorted anything through it. They did get here 340 years ago.
